Central Alberta Trail Running Series

Alberta is known around the world for it's pure and natural beauty --- certainly one of Canada's premiere outdoor playgrounds. The 5 Peaks courses cover single-track trails, lift lines, hiking trails, cat tracks, x-country trails, ski runs, etc… While elevation gain varies according to the course, the diverse range of terrain will challenge your endurance and give you the chance to take in some breathtaking scenery.

Each race venue is located within approximately a one-hour drive from Calgary. So, here's your chance for an exhilarating Saturday morning experience. What better way to start your weekend?!

You'll be physically challenged while experiencing some of the most spectacular terrain Alberta has to offer.

Please Note: The Northern Alberta Trail Running Series and the Central Alberta Trail Running Series are independent series for the 2010 season. Both series have a full 5 race complement, and will have their own points race and series finale. Participants can race in both series, and those racing in more than 5 events will get 1 free race only (if registered before the early bird deadline) and will score points on their best 4 finishes in one series only.

Race day festivities usually wrap up between noon and 1:00 PM with our awards and prize ceremonies.

NEW this year ~ Chronotrack timing

We will be using Chronotrack (chip) timing this year! You will be issued a race bib at the beginning of the year with a magnetic strip embedded in it. You will need to do things; 1) Bring your bib back for each 5 Peaks Central Alberta Series race this year and 2) do not crumple, fold or break the magnetic strip on your race number. We think you'll agree that this is a great way for us to reduce our environmental impact and provide you with top level timing.

All fees non-refundable and non-transferable. If you are unable to attend a 5 Peaks race in which you are pre-registered,  you have the ability (through the Registered Racer area) to transfer from one race or course to another - up to the close of the on-line registration system for individual races (Wednesday at midnight prior to race day). On a case by case basis (including racer injury or a medical condition), registrants will be able to defer their race fee to a later event of that same season, or to any venue the following race season of equal dollar value. This transfer may include events in another series should the participant choose.  No refunds or transfers will be permitted once the event has occured. For Legal and Liability reasons Runners cannot offer their unused bib to any other runner.

NEW this year ~ Post Race Barbeque!

This season, at the last races of the season in each region, while we're busy tabulating final championship results and awards, we'll be offering racers something to do! Included in your entry fee for the last race of the season is a terrific post race barbeque. The awards ceremony is always a lot of fun. This year, in addition to getting voted "Canada's Best Running Series", we're going for "Best After Party" too! Join us in the festivities!
